Squash Improves to 2-0
After a solid win against DDS last Wednesday, the IMS Squash team improved their record to 2-0 with another victory, this time over Canterbury. The Falcons played a mix of their JV girls and boys teams and ended the match with 8 wins and 4 losses. This match marked the first time IMS players faced an opponent in a best of five situation. In the past, we have played best of three, only needing to win two games to win the match. On Friday, however, we played best of five, forcing our players to prove their endurance by winning three games to win the match. Will, Greg, Cathy, Heidi, Joseph, and Don all won their matches in three games. Yu Jin lost her first game but proved her mettle by winning the next three to win the match. Jack Z. made his match exciting by forcing it all the way to five games. While he lost the first game, he came from behind to win the next two, lost the fourth, but then won the fifth game to win his match. Although some of the Indian Mountain players did not finish victorious, they played great matches, and the Falcon coaches are proud their players. The team’s next challenge will be taking on the JV Girls team from Berkshire on Wednesday, January 13 at 4:00 pm. The team hopes you can come to cheer them on!
