Falcon squash players lost for the first time this season on Friday following a series of excellent games against players from Berkshire School.  Greg had a great match, taking control early to defeated the top player of Berkshire’s ladder in a decisive set of three games.  The rest of the matches were much closer.  Aya fought for every point to earn a victory over his oppenent.  Coach Sprague said, “It was an amazing match to watch.” Although Aya lost the first set, he pushed hard to wint the next two before losing again in set four.  His determination in the final game paid off and he wore down his oppenent and capitalized on his fatigue to earn the win.

Other players also had great games.  Despite losing his match 3-2, Joseph never gave up, and he forced his oppenent to play outstanding squash to win the final fifth game of their match.  Minchan also showed real heart as he hustled around the court.  Although he lost both his first and second games, he pulled out a victory in a long third game, winnning with a score of 14-12, before finally falling to his oppenent in the fourth game of their match.

It was a disappointing loss for the previously undefeated Squash team, but IMS coaches were very happy with their players performance and look forward to their next matchup, which will be played against Kent on Wednesday, February 23.
