The Varsity Ice Hockey team pulled away from Trinity Pawling thirds on Friday, February 19 in a rematch of the second contest of the season by score of 4-3.

The first game was a tough-fought battle that ended in a loss despite a grueling comeback effort in the final minutes. The ice was set for this to be an even tougher battle.

From the moment the puck dropped, there was little denying that the teams were evenly matched. Through two periods of play, the score rarely strayed from a two goal differential and even in the final minutes seemed destined to be decided by a single goal. It seemed that each goal was answered in short order. With big goals by Nick Traggio and a flurry of final-minute saves by goaltender, Eli Widener, IMS pulled out with a 4-3 victory.

The varsity hockey team will have a game versus Berkshire on Wednesday, February 24t, at 2:30PM, as well as the Pavlik Cup tournament hosted by Rumsey Hall on Saturday and Sunday to round out the season.
